Are you 5%’er or a 95%’er when it comes to MLM?
What does this mean you ask? It’s simple…
ONLY 5% of people sometimes even less will succeed in their chosen Multi Level Marketing business. Why is this? Did the MLM company fail? Did the “system” they were using fail? Chances are the answers to both of those questions are both no. MLM’s don’t fail nor do systems, it’s the people who fail. For some strange reason, people will get small business bank loans, buy equipment, buy insurance, pay employee overhead and do everything possible to have a “brick and mortar” business, but when it comes to owning a home based MLM business, they treat it as a hobby.
I’ve always wondered why this is? MLM is just as much of a real business as ANY other business. It takes money to start up, to advertise…It takes money to buy product and on and on. The main reason MOST people will never get past being a 95%’er is because they treat their business like a hobby. They view it as a business that “may” make them an extra $300 to $500 a month or so, if they are lucky. A 5%’er understands that MLM is going to be an endeavor that can take 6 months to a couple of years to really get off the ground. A 5%’er invests marketing dollars into things like magazine ads that won’t even come out for 2 to 3 months down the road. This is because they see the big picture and are in their opportunity for the long haul. They are not already looking for that next pot of gold 2 months after joining something.
A 5%’er knows this is purely a numbers game and doesn’t chase every prospect he/she comes across. He/she are evaluating the prospects as much as the prospects are evaluating the potential sponsor. In other words, a serious MLM’er will know when to spot a prospect who’s going to be nothing more than an energy sucking, time wasting vacuum that sucks the life out of them. There are many terms for these people. The ones who play the victim, they shout, “oh poor me”, “I’ve been scammed so many times”…”My sponsors disappeared right after I joined”…wah wah wah…”I got burnt with xyz company and lost money”…(Note- They really meant, they spent their beer money on worthless advertising and they chased uncle Bob who only knows how to work for the man for 40hrs. a week and prays he’s not still working at 70 years old during his so called “golden years”.
A true 5%’er has heard it all…All of the excuses and things that people say to avoid being responsible for their own failures. A 95%’er will hop from MLM to MLM thinking that if they get a hold of that next new “hot” product or compensation plan” then they have to be successful this time! Unfortunately, this is SOOOO not true. They will revert back to their same old habits of saying, “UH, I have to spend money on this”? Honestly, most people should not even attempt an MLM…They have no clue, they aren’t trained correctly and the “system” has them too brainwashed into needing that secure paycheck.
They have the mentality of how quickly can I break even on the monthly auto-ship…Or how quickly can I make $5,000 per week…Folks, this kind of thinking is absolutely ludicrous. You’ve heard all your life, it can take a business 3 to 5 years to break even, so what makes an MLM so different? Does lifetime residual income in the high figures monthly not encourage you to make a solid 3 to 5 year plan and stay where you are? If the answer is no, then MLM is not for you.
You my friend are better suited for buying some lotto tickets at the register after you just cashed your paycheck at the stop and shop on a Friday afternoon…Sorry, but it’s true.
