Are you testing your ads?

If you are not testing your advertising, then you might as well start a small fire and throw in wads of cash…Testing advertising is the single most important thing you can do for your business! Whether for an offline brick and mortar business or an online business!

Let’s talk about online advertising - Whether your using Opt in emailing, ezines, pay per click ads or other, you ultimately will need an email subject line that entices people to click through to your ad. The subject line is the MOST critical part! If your subject line doesn’t convice the prospect to open your email, your ad does no good!

You need to test your subject lines! Running one campaign doesn’t cut it! You need to constantly be testing & tweaking your words, and trying them again & again. By changing just one or two words in your title can mean the difference in success or failure of the ad.

In advertising, the ad itself, is NOT the most important part, your subject line is! Use power words like powerful, secret, amazing, discovery, freedom, etc… Don’t make outrageous claims or it can backfire! Don’t say “make 50,000 a month starting this month”…You cannot possibly guarantee anyone that, plus people will assume your some con artist.

To effectively test an ads performance, you need to run it a minimum of three times before tweaking it. How many times does it take you to buy a product or service? I’m willing to bet at least 6 times right? Well, people are all the same! Don’t assume you have a worthless ad if it doesn’t pull in sales/leads the first time out!

Newbies to the home business arena always crack me up…They come into Network Marketing with some wild expectations! Before I ever write them a solo ad for targeted opportunity ezines I always prefice by saying, “now you know advertising isn’t guaranteed right”? Lol, they say yeah yeah yeah, run the ad! Dreams of sugarplums and rolls of cash are dancing in their heads! I can see them just wanting to call their boss and give him the ol” what for speech!
I do the absolute best I can for them, and I wish them well, but I cannot guarantee sign ups or leads. If I could, I’d have every billion dollar ad agency on the planet beating down my door to shower me with money, ha ha ha…In closing, remember this, test test test your ads and subject lines, you could be just 1 word away from success!
